Allow precise location
- Open iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. Switch Location Services on.
- Select Nexus Drive It. Choose Always for route sharing with the screen locked, and switch Precise Location on.
- If Always is not offered yet, allow location while using the app, start the sharing setup inside Drive It, then return to Settings. iOS may request background access separately. Avoid Allow Once for an ongoing route.
Location permission alone does not start sharing. Start sharing inside Drive It using the steps below.
Keep sharing while the phone is locked
- In Settings > Apps > Nexus Drive It, allow mobile data and camera access. Older iOS versions may list the app directly in Settings. Allow access to any photos you choose to attach.
- In Settings > Notifications > Nexus Drive It, allow notifications. Check Focus settings if alerts are silenced. During beta testing, check the app inbox too; do not rely only on push alerts.
- Keep the phone charged. Do not swipe Drive It away while tracking. After a restart, update or forced closure, reopen the app and check sharing again.
Start the route and location sharing
1 Open today’s route while connected
Sign in with mobile data or Wi-Fi available. Open Route It, select your route and check the stops, addresses and instructions have loaded. First sign-in and starting live sharing need a connection.
2 Start and share
Tap Start route, then Start & share location. Accept the location prompts. Start without sharing does not send your live location to Nexus.
3 Check the sharing status
Look for Location sharing on · manage. Tap it to see the tracking screen. For an already active route with sharing off, tap Location sharing off · manage, read and tick the consent box, then tap Start sharing this active route.
Choose live sharing for your route: Start device-only test records locally and does not send locations to Nexus. It is not the setting for live route tracking.
Check before setting off
- The tracking screen should say Sharing with Nexus. Check Latest fix and Last Nexus acknowledgement while connected. A location permission prompt or map dot alone does not prove Nexus is receiving updates.
- For your first test, ask the office to confirm your location and timestamp. Check again after a short screen-locked test while safely parked.
- If it says Tracking stopped, reports an error or has no fresh acknowledgement, follow the checks under Quick fixes and support before relying on live tracking.
What is shared: During an active sharing session, precise route locations and timestamps are sent to Nexus for delivery progress and planning. End route or Stop tracking ends collection. Previously saved points may still upload afterwards.
Complete a stop
- Use Stop list or Route map to open the right stop. Read the goods, quantities, instructions and cash on delivery (COD) details. Call, Message and navigation shortcuts are available from the stop.
- Tap Arrive when you reach the stop. Record the delivery or collection outcome, or an issue and its reason.
- Take the required photos. One shutter tap returns the photo to the stop gallery. Add comments, the customer name and signature as required. Finish typing before signing. Record COD where applicable.
- Tap Save information to save the form on the phone. Then tap Depart to finish the visit and return to that route’s full stop list. Saving information alone does not depart.
If mobile data drops
Work from the route already loaded on this phone. Save each stop and depart as usual. Photos, proof and departure details are stored locally and queued for upload. Online navigation, new route changes and first-time downloads may be unavailable.
Saved on phone is not the same as received by Nexus. Reconnect, open Drive It and let it upload. The route can show departed stops awaiting sync; use Retry departed stop sync if needed. Look for All departed stops synced to Nexus and report any remaining error.
Protect unsent work: Do not uninstall the app, clear its storage or reset the phone. Keep using the same driver account and phone until the work has synced. Contact the office before changing devices.
Finish your driving day
Once parked at your final destination, tap End route above the Nexus footer and confirm. Check Route ended. This stops route GPS tracking; it does not mark unfinished stops delivered. Pending proof can continue uploading. If you see Route ended on this phone · awaiting Nexus, reconnect and check again.
Quick fixes and support
- No location updates: Check Location is on, precise and background access are allowed, the correct route is sharing, and mobile data works. Move to a safe open area for a GPS fix. Reopen after a restart and check sharing; do not assume it restarted.
- Sharing on but office cannot see you: Check Last Nexus acknowledgement and pending points. Reconnect and use Retry pending uploads on the tracking screen. If the acknowledgement stays old, send the error and route name to the office.
- Cannot sign in or no routes: Check your account approval and ask the office to confirm the route is assigned to you and released.
- A photo or save fails: Keep the app open, read the error and retry. Do not depart until required proof has saved. Report persistent errors with the stop reference.
For help: Contact Nexus. Include phone model, OS version, app version, route or stop reference and the exact error. Do not send passwords or customer details in public feedback.

Install and sign in
1 Download the APK
Open the Nexus download page in Chrome or your usual browser and choose Android. Wait for the download, then open the APK from Downloads. You do not need Expo Go or an Expo account.
2 Install or update
If asked, allow installation from this source for the browser or file manager you used. Return to the installer and choose Install or Update. You can turn that installation permission off afterwards. Keep Play Protect on; if it reports the app as unsafe, stop and contact Nexus.
3 Sign in
Open Nexus Drive It and use your approved driver account. If approval is still pending, complete your checks and contact Nexus. Do not uninstall an existing copy to solve an update problem while it holds unsent work.
Allow precise location
- Switch the phone’s Location setting on.
- Press and hold the Nexus Drive It icon > App info > Permissions > Location. Choose Allow all the time and enable Use precise location where offered.
- If only while using the app is offered initially, allow it, start route sharing in Drive It and follow the request for background access in Settings.
Location permission alone does not start sharing. Start sharing inside Drive It using the steps below.
Keep sharing while the phone is locked
- In App info > Battery or App battery usage, allow background usage. If your phone offers Unrestricted or No restrictions, use it for Drive It when background tracking is being stopped. This can use more battery.
- On Samsung, check Settings > Battery > Background usage limits. Remove Drive It from Sleeping or Deep sleeping apps; add it to Never sleeping apps where available. Names vary by model.
- Allow background mobile data for Drive It. If Data Saver restricts it, allow unrestricted data for this app. Keep the phone charged and avoid Force stop while tracking.
- Allow camera access and notifications in App info > Permissions or Notifications. Allow selected photos if attaching an existing image. Check the inbox during beta testing; do not rely only on push alerts.
